Cisco Introduces New Exams and Courses for its CCNA Voice and CCNP Voice Certifications

CCVP is now CCNP Voice

Learning @ Cisco is pleased to announce updates to its Voice Certification track which is dedicated to building knowledge and validating skills for Cisco Voice and Unified Communications IT professionals. Special attention has been paid to enhancing the Cisco CCNA® Voice and the Cisco CCNP® Voice certifications to reflect the convergence of data and voice on the network. Cisco’s leading certification for professionals working with Unified Communications applications across business, government, service provider, and consumer segments provides skills development training for mainstream IT professionals.  The revised CCNA Voice and CCNP Voice certification exams are now available.

CCNA Voice Certification
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) Voice certification validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to administer a voice network. The CCNA Voice certification confirms that an individual has the required skill set for specialized job roles in voice technologies including Voice Administrator, Voice Techician, and Telecom Analyst. It validates skills in VoIP technologies such as IP PBX, IP telephony, handset, call control, and voicemail solutions.

The new “Introducing Cisco Voice and Unified Administration (ICOMM) v8.0” course and corresponding ICOMM #640-461 required exam are the core components of the CCNA Voice certification.  The ICOMM #640-461  exam replaces the current IIUC #640-460 and CVOICE #642-436 exam for individuals working toward achieving the CCNA Voice certification. The last day to test using the IIUC #640-460 or CVOICE #642-436 exams is Monday, February 28, 2011.

For more information regarding CCNA Voice certification options, please review the Cisco Voice track exam diagrams at the bottom of this page or access  CCNA Voice syllabus page.

CCVP is now CCNP Voice
Cisco is officially changing the name of its Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certification to Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Voice. The name change is intended to provide a clear career path for Cisco voice and unified communications IT professionals aligning to the entire Cisco Voice certification track.  Effective Tuesday, October 19, 2010, candidates studying for the previous CCVP exams or new CCNP Voice exams will receive a CCNP Voice certificate. The last day to test using current CCVP exams is Monday, February 28, 2011.

CCNP Voice validates advanced knowledge and skills required to integrate collaboration and voice applications into underlying network architectures. With the CCNP Voice certification, a voice network professional can create a collaboration solution that is transparent, scalable, manageable, and integrated within standard environments.  Robust implementation, operation, configuration, and troubleshooting issues in a converged IP network are also covered. With emphasis on scaling collaboration workspaces, the new courses and exams allow voice professionals to provide easy to use mobile voice and global call access services for end users.

The CCNP Voice curriculum covers:

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CUCME)
Quality of Service (QoS)
Cisco Unity Connection (CUC)
Cisco Unity Express (CUE)
Cisco Unified Presence (CUP)
Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (CUPC)

Mudanças no Currículo CCNP

Pessoal,

No final do ano a Cisco anunciou a mudança no currículo CCNP, alterando todas as provas e marcando úlltimo dia para realização dos exames atuais.

Special Beta Offer for CCNP TSHOOT Exam

The new CCNP TSHOOT certification exam will first be available as a beta exam; candidates can register and take the beta (#643-832) from February 16 through March 26, 2010. To encourage beta testers, Cisco will provide the TSHOOT beta exam free of charge to the first 150 candidates who complete it. (Use the promo code TSBETA when registering). After that, beta exams will be available at a discounted price of $50 USD. Passing scores on beta exams count towards certification just like final release exams; however, scores will not be available until April 30, 2010. The TSHOOT exam is a good choice for recertification because it validates the troubleshooting skills commonly used by professional level network engineers on the job. Act quickly to obtain a free beta exam; CCNP is Cisco's second most popular certification worldwide. Beta exams are available at any Pearson VUE testing facility.

CCNP Certification Revised in Collaboration with Network Engineers

Greater Focus on Complex Routing and Switching and Network Troubleshooting

Cisco has updated its Cisco CCNP® certification for network engineers through a comprehensive process involving customers and partners from around the globe. The revision focuses on the competencies that are needed to plan, implement, and troubleshoot the routed and switched networks of today and is designed to be more predictive of job readiness. CCNP offers a career development path for Cisco CCNA® certified network engineers and a solid foundation for those who are interested in Cisco CCIE®.

Revised CCNP Curriculum and Exams

Cisco has redesigned the CCNP courses and exams to reflect the evolving job tasks of global network professionals.

ROUTE v1.0 – Implementing Cisco IP Routing – is a five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of complex enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions, using a range of routing protocols. ROUTE v1.0 also covers configuration of secure routing solutions to support branch offices and mobile workers. The course includes more than seven hours of e-learning lessons and demos that students can absorb at their own pace.

SWITCH v1.0 – Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks – is a five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals will learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions, using Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture. SWITCH v1.0 also covers secure integration of VLANs, WLANs, voice, and video into campus networks.

TSHOOT v1.0 – Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks – is a five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals learn to (1) plan and perform regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks, and (2) use technology-based practices and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting. Extensive labs provide hands-on learning and reinforce troubleshooting skills. The course includes more than nine hours of e-learning lessons and demos that students can absorb at their own pace.

The CCNP curriculum is designed for network engineers with at least one year of professional work experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. The revised CCNP certification requires three 120-minute exams—ROUTE #642-902, SWITCH #642-813, and TSHOOT #642-832—that validate the key competencies of network engineers.

Vale a pena investir em certificações complementares?

Pessoal,
